Stafford Fitzgerald Nibley '14 Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Stafford Nibley, Class of 2014, was born May 10, 1996, and grew up in Bethesda with his three older brothers.  He especially loved spending time with his brothers at the family retreat called “The River,” in the Northern Neck of Virginia.  There he loved tubing and fishing on the Potomac River, riding the tractor, sharing time with cousins on the beach and of course, roasting s’mores after dinner on the grill!

As a child he was always cheerful, bubbling with artistic imagination and happiest when attending singing and acting classes.  By middle school, Stafford’s musical theater career truly began when he performed in various musicals including Once on This Island, Guys and Dolls, and Crazy for You.

One of Stafford’s happiest days was receiving an acceptance letter from Good Counsel.  He embraced the Ryken program and the Xaverian values of simplicity, humility, compassion, zeal and trust.  He worked hard to develop and maintain friendships with his peers, cross country running mates, theater friends, and teachers.

Stafford challenged himself physically and mentally in trying out for and training for GC’s outstanding cross country program his freshman and sophomore years, but his true love of musical theater brought him back to acting.  He auditioned and performed in numerous plays and musicals for GC’s Musical Theater Program, with his most memorable and outstanding performance as Javert in GC Theater’s production of Les Miserables.

Stafford was truly proud of being a Falcon, touched the hearts of many of his GC friends, teachers and parents, and will always be remembered for his beautiful smile, gentle nature and God given singing voice.
