International Admissions

More than 100 students from 20 countries have called Good Counsel home. Our location just 45 minutes from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland — gives our international students unparalleled access to our state’s and nation’s cultural, economic and legislative epicenter.

Good Counsel is SEVIS approved and admits 12-20 international students each year to come study in the United States. Our exceptional faculty and courses provide each student with the tools to succeed in college and beyond.

Ninety-eight percent of our international graduates are accepted to US News’ Top 100 National Universities, including Johns Hopkins University, New York University, MIT, Carnegie Mellon University, University of California, Georgetown University, and Cornell University. GC’s Class of 2024 included five student admissions to Ivy League universities, and as a whole, the class was awarded $45.7 million in scholarships.

International students live with host families through an approved homestay program. Olney, Maryland located in Montgomery County is a safe, historical suburb of Washington D.C. The median household income is $161k and the median home value is $551k. Olney is repeatedly ranked one of the best places to live by Niche and ranked by Wallet Hub as one of the top 10 most diverse counties in the country.

On campus, international students are supported by a staff of dedicated counselors, peer mentors, ESL courses, and a 24/7 parent portal, international students become a part of the Good Counsel family.
