Established in loving memory of Bill Strasser '80 by the Strasser family, the scholarship supports a rising sophomore, junior, or senior Good Counsel student who faces and overcomes significant adversity. Bill, Bob '83, and Tom Strasser '79 are relatives of the late Candy Horman, beloved long-time employee of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, and the late Jimmy Edwards '73.

 

Bill, a graduate of the Class of 1980, was one of few people baptized at Good Counsel. Bill earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University and a MSEng in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University. Upon completing his undergraduate degree, Bill accepted a position in research and development with Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto, Calif. It was in California that Bill met and married Anne Hyland.

 

Bill enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He loved outdoor activities, especially hiking the mountains near his home with his wife, Anne, and surfing the Pacific Ocean, just a mile from his front door. He was immensely proud and devoted to his beautiful and talented daughters, Molly and Robin.
