My parents understood the value of a Catholic education and made many sacrifices to attain it for my siblings and me. Good Counsel built a strong foundation for me, which I would not have had otherwise. As an alumni and father to three Good Counsel students, I find it important to give back to Good Counsel to thank my parents, further support my daughter and sons, as well as to help provide the opportunity to others.

We give to Our Lady of Good Counsel High School because the school does a great job of preparing students for college and also helps teach life skills by focusing on the Xaverian values. My daughter Bridgette Kim (Class of 2019) was well prepared for college and now attends the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering majoring in mechanical engineering and computer science. Bridgette made the Dean's List and is interning this summer onsite at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems. Without the caring guidance of her GC teachers, administration, and counselor, Bridgette would not have been as prepared as she was for entering the rigorous academic program at Johns Hopkins University. GC offered Bridgette the opportunity to participate in their excellent STEM program, serve as a varsity swim team captain, lead her own club on entrepreneurship, and to participate in other extracurricular activities. Due to the nationally recognized GC STEM program, Bridgette was able to leverage her experience to obtain 4 different STEM internships during high school at DecisionPoint Corporation and Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab for 3 summers. Good Counsel empowered Bridgette to spread her wings and to step out of her comfort zone in order to take on leadership roles within GC and in her community. Thank you, Good Counsel!

I've worked on a variety of school fundraising initiatives as a volunteer or parent for more than 25 years. Never have I been more engaged or excited to donate to a school than I am with Good Counsel. The reason is simple. The school is anchored to its mission, and truly inspires students to excel, serve and love.
