Vincent Rapposelli enters his second year as head coach of Good Counsel’s rugby team this year. Rapposelli previously served as an assistant coach for the Falcons.
“The goal for Good Counsel is to win a championship,” Rapposelli said. “Over the last couple of years, we've been building up, and we've gotten some really good recruits and outstanding young players that have made that goal closer.”

Vincent Rapposelli Bio Continued...
Rapposelli was first named head coach for the 2023-24 school year. He prides himself in his player development skills — aiming to elevate his players to a higher level of play and get them into the “rugby mindset.” He also hopes to develop his players into respectful, young gentlemen off the pitch, he said.
“I'm developmentally focused,” Rapposelli said. “I'm fine with players with no rugby experience because I’m used to coaching up from that.”
Rapposelli began playing rugby in third grade in a youth league in Wilmington, Delaware. He later played at the Salesianum School for high school before playing four years at Mount St. Mary’s. He played as the school transitioned from a Division III program to Division I. He was also a part of the Mountaineers’ 2007 national championship.
Following his collegiate career, Rapposelli played amateur rugby across the mid-Atlantic region, including in Frederick, Philadelphia, Wilmington, and Washington, DC.
“I decided I wouldn't make it higher than casual clubs. So I decided to throw myself into coaching,” Rapposelli said.
Rapposelli landed his first high school coaching gig with the Falcons in 2020 as an assistant coach. The season was canceled that year due to COVID-19, and he had to wait another year to coach Good Counsel. That same year, he also became an assistant coach at Howard University.
He also became head coach of Mount St. Mary’s B-side team in 2022, heading the Mountaineers’ developmental team, which competed in Division II.
This fall, Rapposelli begins his new role as head coach and director of rugby at Loyola University.
Through all his coaching stops in the past four years, Good Counsel’s rugby program has been a constant for Rapposelli.
“Sometimes I hold players to very high expectations, both on and off the field,” Rapposelli said. “I have a distinct idea of what Good Counsel rugby culture should look like and what we should be.”
