Description
Our coding camp for middle-school students (grades 6-8, ages 10-14) is designed for campers with beginner, intermediate, or advanced programming skills. Campers will be given a strong foundation in coding with Python. Python is the fastest growing software development language, with applications being deployed across many leading industries.
- Learn techniques for designing Robotic Control Systems
- Explore the uses of Object Oriented and Functional Programming concepts
- Investigate fundamental Machine Learning and A.I. technologies
What to bring
- All other equipment will be provided
- A lunch plan is available for purchase, or lunch can be brought to camp in a cooler
- Full water bottle with camper's name on it
Camp Director:
John Carbonell '88
John Carbonell '88 is an electrical and software engineer, who has been leading after-school youth activities for the last 12 years. He has taught youth robotics classes and camps for various organizations, including leading the Good Counsel Robotics Summer Camp Program since 2013. His youth robotics competition teams have competed in the Maryland State Robotics Championships for the last 10 years. He lives in Damascus with his wife and two children.
