Description

Vibrant fibers and textures surround us, and in this week-long camp, campers will explore the wonderful world of fiber arts. Using yarn, fabric, threads, and fun, your child will make unique handmade crafts that they can give as gifts and display as keepsakes. From knitting to felting to embroidery to weaving, campers will learn a variety of fiber art techniques. Campers will develop skills in hand sewing, pom-pom making, stitching, tracing, cutting, and more. The day will also include breaks to enjoy playtime outdoors.

Advanced Camp

The campers in the Advanced Camp will take on elevated skills and progress more quickly throughout their projects. Campers are not required to take the Introduction Camp to participate in the Advanced Camp, and must be entering into 6th or 7th grade. No age exceptions will be made.

What to Bring

  • A lunch plan is available for purchase, or lunch can be brought to camp in a cooler

  • All other supplies will be provided

Mrs. Kellermann
Camp Director:
Katie Kellermann, GC English Teacher

Camp Director, Katie Kellermann, is an English teacher at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. When not reading, Katie enjoys relaxing with a creative project. Her favorites include embroidery and hand sewing, both great options for exercising creative muscles and creating meaningful gifts for friends and family. This is her second year as Camp Director and she is very excited to introduce young people to the joys of working with fiber arts!
