Transportation
Good Counsel is quickly accessible from the Intercounty Connector (MD 200), which provides connections to I-270, I-70 and I-95. In addition to private and public transportation, we offer bus service.

Good Counsel’s busses are provided by Coughlin Transportation, with whom we have built a solid relationship over the past 30 years.
Morning pick-up schedule is the same everyday of the week, unless we have a weather delay. Weather delays are determined by Montgomery County Public Schools and are announced on the MCPS Twitter feed.
ALL buses depart Good Counsel at 3:40 p.m. on full school days. Early release days are announced in the weekly news and daily announcements.

Ride on Bus Route #52
The Ride-On Bus is a FREE service for students. To ride the Ride-On Bus, students must obtain a Youth Cruiser SmarTrip Card. Students may obtain SmarTrip Cards at Good Counsel's school store, The Falcon's Nest, or online here.
Montgomery County Ride-On Bus offers stops on the Good Counsel campus at the traffic circle at the main entrance adjacent to the Maryland flagpole. By partnering with Montgomery County Government to pilot this program, we are able to offer families a no-hassle option that saves both time and expense.

Metro Bus Transportation
The Y2-Y8 Georgia Avenue-Maryland line serves Georgia Ave, Glenmont, Wheaton, Forest Glen and Silver Spring stations

Red Line Metrorail
Students can use the Red Line Metro Rail to get to the Glenmont station, where the GC Private Bus Service has a pick-up.
- The Red Line Metro Rail travels to Glenmont Station every 15 minutes in the morning.
- The Good Counsel Private Bus Service stops at the Glenmont Station every regular school day at 7:10 a.m. for morning pick up.
- The Good Counsel private bus service stops at the Glenmont Station at 4:00 p.m. for afternoon drop off.

Fall Semester 2021 Bus Pass Fees:
- $7 single ride (non-pass holder)
- $525 per semester round trip
- $265 per semester one way

Rubi Rides is a small business founded and operated by Good Counsel alumna Noreen Butler ‘92. Noreen is also the mother of two Good Counsel students. She describes Rubi as "a Premier Transportation Platform that helps busy families get their kids from point A to B safely with [a] network of vetted, safe, dedicated drivers.” In addition to offering custom transportation options, Rubi services all existing GC bus routes.

Proceed past the first entrance and turn left at the second entrance, the South entrance (adjacent to the baseball field)

Turn left and park in the Visitors’ Lot directly in front of the school’s main entrance (parallel to Old Vic. Blvd.)
When dropping off or picking up:
Enter School
All drivers enter the school parking lot from the South entrance on Old Vic Boulevard (adjacent to the baseball field)
Exit School
Heading EAST (toward Sandy Spring)
- Drop off/pick up students at the curb in front of the dining hall
- Exit the school property by way of Xaverian Way (the service driveway)
Heading WEST (toward Olney)
- Drop off students at the curb in front of the school
- Exit the school property at the North entrance on Old Vic Boulevard
When parking in the North Lot:
Please note: the North Parking Lot is assigned parking located on the Dining Hall side of the school
Enter School
Traveling EAST on Route 108 to GC (toward Sandy Spring)
- Travel one block past Old Vic Boulevard
- Turn right onto Xaverian Way (service entrance)
- Turn right into the correct parking lot and proceed to the assigned parking space
Traveling WEST on Route 108 to GC (toward Olney)
- Make a U-turn* at the light at Route 108 and Old Vic Boulevard
- Travel one block East of Old Vic Boulevard, and turn right onto Xaverian Way (service entrance)
- Turn right into the correct parking lot and proceed to the assigned parking space
*Any driver uneasy about making a U-turn at the intersection of Route 108 and Old Vic Boulevard should contact the School Traffic Coordinator John Poulos for adjustments to assigned parking.
When parking in the South Lot:
Please note: the South Parking lot is located on the Kane Center side of the school
Enter School

- Turn right on Old Vic Boulevard
